May Noumenia (Skirophorion)

May 27 @ 6:00 pm UTC-4

Noumenia is the first day of the lunar month in Hellenismos. It is a time to worship the Olympic Gods of the household. Following the dark of the Moon, when Hekate recieves her Deipnon, families would make offerings at the household shrines to Hestia, Hermes, Apollon, Hekate, Zeus, and other Theoi to give thanks as well as to ask for blessings. It will be an opportunity for all interested to learn about the religious and magical practices of Classical Greece.
The entity of focus for this Noumenia is Hekate, maiden of the roads and crossroads, Titan of magic, and there will be a lesson and a fun craft to go with the event. We will be making torches and sharing stories about Hekate.
Please wear white, if you would like to dress in a chiton, peplos, or other Greek style clothing, you are welcome to do so. Also, please bring food items to share, with humans as well as the Theoi, and a donation of $5.
All are welcome to the Noumenias.
